This Week’s Training & Looking ahead…

As we approach the end of the school holidays, things will be approaching normality in the club soon too. Late Summer / Autumn is normally a popular time of year for lots of aspects of club running…
* Hill Reps will resume on Thursdays 730pm
* Mixed Sessions also on Thursdays at 630pm
* Tuesday night runs will move slowly onto roads as the nights draw in
* Longer Sunday runs will kick off again in the Peak District. Typically 2-3h with cafe at the end and back in Belper for lunchtime. We often do Chatsworth or the Edges / Baslow area.

This weeks Tuesday offering is Race no.9 (of 12) in our Club Fell Race Series – this time at Eyam (Barrel Inn Fell Race). It’s just over 10k but as you’d expect includes a lot of climb – including Abney Moor – a stunning area which currently has the Heather up there in full bloom. You don’t need to be fast to try one of these fell races. If you have been thinking about trying one but not yet got round to it then why not tackle this one. This race is a slightly earlier start than normal – starting 630pm with registration from 530pm. Also if you click through the links on our website, you will get to the fell race page which includes PRE ENTRY. Post on Facebook to liftshare. I will be going and will aim to leave Belper at the very early time of 5pm (Triangle).

Also on Tuesday there will be a normal club run – hopefully your chance to congratulate Clare on her fantastic race in Chamonix – part of the UTMB series. Fingers crossed – she will be running too!

Thursday’s session details will be on Facebook in the week and hill reps will start again next week.

And then the day after that is the (now fully booked with 26 members) Club Running Weekend in Borrowdale!
