Strength Sessions, Derby Uni

The Belper Harriers Strength and Conditioning are tailored sessions delivered by a Qualified Strength and Conditioning coach and Sport Scientist called Alex.

Each block of six sessions includes a tailored plan that is adapted for runners of all ages and abilities whether it is your first-time trying strength training to being a competent gym enthusiast. You will learn the strength and conditioning techniques and the sole facility will only include runners; it will be inclusive with a supportive atmosphere where you will be able to see yourself progress.

There are two available sessions:

Wednesday evening 7:30-8:30pm

Thursday morning 6:30-7:30 am.

But please contact Wykeham at: w.bosworth@hotmail.co.uk or through Facebook before paying for a block to make sure there is an available slot as it has limited spaces to ensure runners get tailored support from the coach.

There is huge research surrounding the importance of strength training for runners, from injury prevention to improving performance and running economy; it is important for every runner to include within their training! There is a video below by the Coach, Alex Van Enis which I would recommend that you watch before attending the sessions and for further details regarding strength training for runners.

The University facility is fantastic where some of the best Great Britain athletes have training; the value for money is incredible as similar sessions can cost this much for just one session never mind for an entire block!
