BDL Race 3- Bakewell Showground

Sunday saw the latest league race and 24 Harriers (with a few sore heads from the Christmas do!) took part in another big field of runners from the 12 participating clubs.
The course was a challenging 3 laps with a water section and two good climbs each time (which I swear got steeper). Always a popular race the team at Matlock laid on another cracking run- well organised and supported.
The first Harrier home was Shaun Bott bang on 32 mins, closely followed by Edward James and Jack Dakin
Special mention to our two first timers- Wykeham Bosworth was 5th Harrier home and James James Hart 7th Harrier. Well done guys- we will need your speedy legs in the next two races for sure!
The ladies saw Helen Turner first Harrier with Helen Brunt and Rachel Clark not too far behind.
Well done to everyone who ran- special mention to Georgie Bestwick for the seasonal headgear!
The next race is at Long Eaton in January- check out the club website for the date and get it in your new diary!
Your normal race correspondents will be back soon with much more impressive write ups no doubt. Full results will be posted soon on the website.
