Full & Half Ultra Tour Matlock Bath
The Christmas Break saw around 20 hardy Harriers set off on the half and full Ultras which start and finish in Belper with the half finishing in Matlock Bath. For several, this was pushing them beyond their usual comfort zone having never run over 26 miles before. The conditions underfoot were very soggy so all completing that day deserved kudos! Well done all. You can see from the route profile below how many hills are involved and yes there is some flat!!! You can find more info from the routes very own webpage here. A good 3-4h or 4-6h on your feet. Fastest times around the 4h15-4h30 mark.
Winter Solstice Run
As is customary, Rachel rounded up a merry band to set off on the shortest (and longest day too mid June) day of the year to see the sun rise – and in this particular case, avoid the super strong winds which brought a tree down on their dark lane section. Breakfast in Belper topped off a good morning!
