Pub Runs

Once a month we organise “Pub Runs”.  These are typically based within a few miles of Belper in Winter but could be further into the Peak District in Summer

There’s normally 2 groups – faster and slower – with the meet points being shared via the website homepage and Facebook in the week or so before. We set off usual time – 730pm, but early and late in the seasons this may vary slightly so keep an eye on Facebook for times.

We arrange sandwiches and / or chips with the pub beforehand, so that we’ve all got food to look forward to to mop up the beer! This is normally no more than £5 and is optional. The leader of the run will coordinate numbers at the start of the run.

Throughout winter, we offer a choice to the normal BLC run and base our run round a different pub each week. All in the club calendar. These runs are not about pace, but about getting out for an hour in all weathers, with torches and getting back within the hour. If there’s slower runners along we cover less distance, if faster runners along we cover more miles – either way, we all love our winter offroad headtorch socials so if you’ve never run offroad in the dark and fancy it then come along. NOTE if you’re unsure on torches just message Alan B beforehand as he’s got spares anyway until you decide what you actually need.

Offroad shoes, jackets recommended. Charged torches. No food arranged but many pubs offer snacks. Run for 1h.
